Masoom Butt Out of the 212 Olympia!
Pakistani Born Bodybuilder Masoom Butt semi- exploded onto the 212 competition stage in 2012 having placed 2nd at the Toronto Pro, 3rd at the Sheru , 5th at the British Grand Prix and 6th at the EVL Pro in Prague. Using the point system, he is guaranteed a spot on the Olympia stage in September to do battle with Lewis, Correa, and Raymond. Now living in Ireland, the 20- plus year veteran of the sport and youngest person to win the Mr Pakistan will be relegated to watch the show from his living room as he learned his fate today from an immigration attorney. In short, Masoom overstayed a visa in 2001 and was deported from the USA. It's probably no secret that anyone holding a Pakistani passport and wishing to come back to the USA after having been deported would likely have to jump through an extensive amount of legal hoops to get back into the USA. This was Masoom's second attempt in the last 4 months to secure a visa. A third appointment with immigration has been scheduled although that appointment is set for a few months after the Mr Olympia competition. Hoping the authorities would bend in his favor, Masoom had been training hard and dieting for the M.r Olympia with the high hopes the authorities would give him a break similar to the one Victor Martinez was granted this past Spring. Masoom hopes to compete in Europe next year.
