EGCG applied orally to rats (75 mg/
kg) is poorly absorbed (1.6% of administered amount)
and results in a low plasma concentration (19.8 ng/ml). In
the same study, when EGCG was administered intravenously
to rats at a dosage as low as 10 mg/kg, a plasma
concentration of 4,700 ng/ml was observed.
